Impulse Days Bioactive and Biofunctional Peptides is a scientific event that will take place in Nancy.
This event aims to bring together the scientific and industrial community working on bioactive and biofunctional peptides in France and internationally, in the Nancy area. It also strengthen the French scientific community ahead of the 5th International Symposium on Bioactive Peptides, co-organized by CNRS, Université de Lorraine, Teagasc and the University of Limerick in Ireland, to be held from June 14th to June 16th 2027. The 4th edition of the Symposium took place in Kyoto in June 2025.

Bioactive and Biofunctional Peptides
Lots of scientists are focusing their attention and interest on peptides for their applications related either to their biofunctionality (metal-complexation, emulsification, targeting properties, etc.) and their bioactivity (antimicrobial, antioxidant, antihypertensive, anti-cancer, etc.) with some methodologies and applications common to this type of biomolecules. Thus, the purpose of this event is to take a broad view of peptide sources and production techniques to bring together scientists from a variety of fields (chemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy, biology, microbiology, health, pharmacy, etc…) and to favour their complementarities, which is often required in the setting up of various scientific projects.
Contributions will include peptides obtained through chemical synthesis, peptides derived from plants, animals or microorganism, and other natural peptide sources, as well as peptides produced by biological processes like microbial fermentation and enzymatic hydrolysis. Common scientific questions about the identification, synthesis, purification, characterization, and use of these biofunctional and bioactive peptides are raised by these various production methods.
The scientific program will therefore address the entire peptide value chain, from discovery to application. Among other, topics will include screening strategies, analytical and preparative separation techniques, and process-scale purification approaches required to isolate and characterize peptides with targeted bioactivities or techno-functional properties. According to the submission from the researchers Community, topics will also include advanced analytical tools, separation technologies, process engineering, bioactivity evaluation, structure–function relationships, and emerging applications related to this specific category of biomolecules…
By gathering researchers from various disciplines, this scientific day will boost the scientific community working on such biofunctional and bioactive peptides and will be the starting point for future collaboration on this hot topic.
